Along the Douro River

I painted this last spring in Portugal.
The terraces everywhere are evidence of hundreds of years of hard labor!

Little hill towns peek out among the grapes, olives and Cork Oaks.

about the artist

White Salmon, Washington, United States
I have always enjoyed making things - learning to use the tools and properties/qualities of materials. My favorite place to renew is in a Forest, Alpine Meadow, or on a Lake; all are wonderful templates for living simply and elegantly! I started drawing at age 5 and worked in several media, eventually taking a minor in Fine Art along with my Science degrees. Later studies in Fiber, Surface Design, Book Arts and Painting support my work today. I continue to study painting through workshops and perseverance at my easel. I work on location and sometimes in the studio.
